Hi there! Welcome to my online journal where I love to discuss everything from my favorite wedding venues, to motherhood, and adventures in parenting. I hope you find it helpful!

Hi, I'm Amy.

The truly stunning, Rancho Las Lomas Wedding Venue

Rancho Las Lomas

Wedding Venue Details

History of Rancho Las Lomas Wedding Venue

According to the Spanish and Mexican Ranchos Map of Orange County, Rancho Las Lomas has been a working Rancho since the 18th Century and belonged to Spanish Nobility in the 19th Century long before California became an American state in 1821. It is a true historic gem of Orange County. Now, the Lawrence Family owns and operates it since 1977. Tucked in a beautiful tree-filled valley of the Silverado Mountains. It feels very rural but it is only 8 miles east of Interstate 5 and 22 minutes from John Wayne Airport (SNA) it is close enough to everything you will need to host your special day.

The Grounds

One thing you notice right away about Rancho Las Lomas is its impeccable taste, quality, and homage to Spanish history. Hand-painted tiles, murals from Portugal, and gorgeous gardens and landscapes are impossible to miss. The 32-acre property also features a zoo with a Bengal White Tiger, Lily. You can see Zebras, Emu, Alpacas, Geese and Ducks. Where else can your wedding guests wander the gorgeous grounds and see a White Tiger during cocktail hour? So cool!

El Teatro

El Teatro is the hallmark backdrop of a wedding at Rancho Las Lomas. The hand-painted blue tile under the red tile roof and classic Spanish archways is so classy and timeless. The archways can be adorned with florals or left natural as their architecture speaks volumes. Your guests sit under a canopy of oak and sycamore trees. Even on a windy day or a hot day in Orange County, nestled in the shaded valley, you won’t even notice.

This location can be a Ceremony site and Reception site at Rancho Las Lomas.

Additional details:

  • 5,560 ft2
  • 375 Plus Guests
  • Lighting
  • Tenting Available
  • Valet Parking
  • Handicap Accessible
  • Wifi

La Terraza

La Terraza is a natural landscape set under large, old, oak trees. Couples can dress this location up or keep it natural. It provides a completely natural backdrop to decorate (or not!) as you see fit. With no architecture to compete with, this is about as peaceful, shaded, and natural as you can get in busy South Orange County.

La Terraza is best suited for a ceremony location but also is one of my favorite photography locations on the premises.

Additional details:

  • 5,560 ft
  • 375 Plus Guests
  • Lighting
  • Tenting available
  • Valet Parking
  • Handicap Accessible
  • Wifi

The Grand Salon

The Grand Salon is the only indoor venue on the premises. The dark wood-lined, vaulted ceilings and cozy stone fireplace creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Your guests feel like they are dinging inside a private estate which they are! The Grand Salon was once the home of the Lawrence family! Its Spanish elegance can be accessorized and dressed up or kept minimal to let the location details shine. French doors open up to a patio with views with a bubbling fountain as the centerpiece.

The Grand Salon can be a Ceremony or Reception site but is mostly used as a Reception location.

Additional details:

  • 3,750 ft2
  • 224 Guests
  • Lighting
  • Valet Parking
  • Handicap Accessible
  • Wifi

Wedding Details:

Weddings start around $7,500 and average $9,500 at peak season according to Wedding Wire but for a one-stop shop that does it all and can host any size ceremony and reception at one location, it is sooo worth it. Couples will have to bring in their own catering and other special details if they want, but the charm and elegance of the venue truly speaks for itself. Some restrictions include no sparklers, rice throwing, or confetti and they have a quiet time set as 10pm for outdoor receptions (later for indoor). Parking capacity is 100 and valet is mandatory after a certain number of guests. They also offer help with rentals, lighting and sound, tenting, and set up and clean up. Reach out to their staff for more information.

My takeaway of Rancho Las Lomas, Wedding Venue:

Having photographed this venue and been a guest to a wedding at this location, it is always an absolute favorite of mine for both. Not only do I live nearby (so I might be a bit biased) but I think it is one of the most beautiful locations in South Orange County. If you want a location that is close to all that Southern California has to offer but you want to feel rural, deep into nature, and the history of the area, this is the spot for you. I hope this was helpful and if you are looking for a photographer who has worked this venue and knows all of the special spots, don’t hesitate to reach out and learn more about what I can bring to your day.
