History the Venue

Ole Hanson Beach Club Wedding Venue is named after the founder of San Clemente, Ole Hanson who planned the “Spanish Village by the Sea” in 1925. He was responsible for building several prominent public structures in San Clemente including, the pier, Casa Romantica (a sister wedding venue and his personal estate), the Beach Club, the Community Center, and Max Berg Plaza Park. The venue was officially opened in 1928 and has gone through many renovations since. The most recent work was completed in 2013 which worked to restore some of its original Spanish architecture and rehabilitate the almost 100-year-old, historic gem.

Details on the grounds

This venue stands out along the glistening coastline of the Pacific Ocean. Its large, green, “Grand Lawn”, and the historic old Magnolia tree is eye-catching compared to other locations in the area. You can feel the history the second you step on the property. The white stucco, hand-painted tile, and red roof pop against the green grass and blue skies of the California Coastline and the Pacific Ocean. There are a lot of beautiful spaces to note on the premises but the venue itself is on the cozy and humble side.

The Grand Lawn

The Grand Lawn is traditionally where most couples set up their ceremony. The Great Room

The Great Room is a wood-lined, large indoor space that is traditionally used for receptions. It can be the dancefloor area or used for dining. There is also an alcove near a circular set of stairs that can be a photo booth area or cocktail location. It is a gorgeous spot to take photos too!

Bistro lights which are also included in your rental fee will light up the area for a warm and cozy feel. Heaters can also be added if need be. The Terrace occupancy for a dance floor is 100 guests.

A smaller terrace is also outside of the Great Room to the East of Ole Hanson Beach Club Wedding Venue that can host cocktail hour. It has a nice, quiet view of the grand lawn and neighboring community.

Bridal Suite and Grooms Parlor Details

There is a small Bridal Suite for the bride to hide away yet still catch a glimpse of the ceremony location if need be and grooms the parlor can be held in the Eastern Terrace to avoid any interaction before the big reveal. Ole Hanson Beach Club Wedding Venue is also a beautiful location for a sneak peek before the ceremony starts. It offers a ton of unique locations like the iconic Spanish tiled stairwell, or front porch. Both are perfect spots for bridal portraits as well!
